I had a date with a woman who very calmly told me that the County had removed her children from her home due to neglect. She explained she wasn't worried about getting them back as she could always have more. That was the the most disturbing thing anyone has ever shared with me. And no, there wasn't a second date.

What keeps you from killing yourself?
by AlmostAtheist inevery once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.
not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.
"but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

After reading my flip response, I reread the original post. You said:
something inside of me mentions the suicide option
If you are really having suicidal thoughts, you need to seek out help now. Look in the Yellow Pages under mental health and go see a professional. There is a huge difference between having a bad day and saying, "I feel like killing myself" versus having repeated thoughts about ending it all.

When my demons pop up I go to a strip bar and listen to the dancers talk about their real lives. After a few minutes I realize that I live a blessed life. Then I kick back with a beer and enjoy the show.

If you are not in step with the FDS, don't humbly submit to their lead, if you question anything God's visible org says and refuse to be readjusted in your thinking,....then you shouldn't be here.
No doubt. That is why I'm not there. If only those that attended the convention who ever questioned anything got up and walked out...
refuse to be readjusted in your thinking: refuse to be brainwashed

Are fireworks legal where you live?
by free2beme inwe went out and bought about $100 worth for tonight and are going to have fun.
i know that in many places they are not legal, as i used to live in california and they were a major "no no" unless done by a professional presentation.
here they are legal, as long as they are not something that leaves the ground or launches.

The really fun ones are illegal in Minnesota. People from here just go over to Wisconsin and buy what they want. Right now its sounds like I live in Little Bagdad.

Is this site ever used for on-line dating?
by frozen one ini was reading another thread that asked, "do you see yourself remarrying?
" i noticed some of the replies mentioned that getting involved with another xjw would be interesting.
i have thought that also.

I'll let you be the judge. (Insert gratuitous boobie shot here)
I saw it on the internet so it must be true. The Harley's fired up. Send directions!

Hi Withholding Peace - I used to dread the topic of religion when dating. However I've found that most women I've been with don't know enough about witnesses to really have an opinion ( says something about how effective the JW work really is). Once in a while I'll be asked about door knocking or blood, but other than that my religious past hasn't been an issue. I have to admit that it would be nice to talk face to face with someone who has been there, done that. But that is the primary purpose of boards like this. A big welcome to you!
Ms Whip - Is that drawing to scale?

Proceed at your own peril...Exactly, Blondie...I read a lot of your posts. You're hot!
I have met one person from this board. We live in the same area. Turned out that she lived in my Aunt and Uncle's basement apartment when she was pioneering back in the early 80's. Small world.
Sorry to hear you were in a motorcycle wreck, Aude. Hope it wasn't too serious. Care to share a few details? I've been to Fiji, Merfi, and it would be a great hideout. Been to Iowa several times, too. I'll drop you a line. Speaking of dropping a line, yes, fishing is a part of marina life. I sail myself. Speaking of marina life, I'm off to the boat with a cooler of beer and a bottle of rum (yohoho). Marina life is fun most of the time, but around the 4th of July the joint really jumps.
